SESSION GUIDE

Congrats on snapping up an exclusive Christmas Mini session!

This handy dandy session guide will tell you everything you need to know about how to best prepare for your session, ensuring that both you and your little one/s have a great time. If you haven’t already, please also read through the information for clarification on what’s included in with your session and available products.

If you didn’t order any extra images or products while booking, but would like to order some, you can let us know via email at any point before/after the session, or within 48hrs after receiving your digital images.

My studio is located in the top right unit of 162 Kendal Avenue, Burnside. There should be parking on the street outside and a sign on our door – come on up the stairs at or just before your session time. Please try not to arrive too early as it can distract other children during their session.

There is a small carpark out the back of the building. Feel free to park there on Sunday, but do not park out the back on Monday – there should be some space on the street outside.

Feels free to take phone photos in the dressing area after the photoshoot, but please don’t take any during the actual photoshoot as it can be distracting for your kids. Maddy may take some ‘behind the scenes’ videos for instagram if the kids are happy and she knows that it won’t effect the photos I’m taking.

WHAT TO EXPECT

• Your session will run for up to 15-mins (or 30-mins for siblings), and I cannot go over this as the sessions are scheduled back to back.

• Make sure that you no more than 5 minutes early.

• Christmas Info and Shy kiddies/toddlers please note:

  An important thing to remember with these mini sessions is they need to be completed within a very limited time frame with not a lot of opportunity for our more nervous wee people to warm up to the idea so please keep this in mind when coming to your mini session. If you thinking this applies to you consider bringing them all dressed and ready to go for the happiest best results.

• While we can dress the kids from our wardrobe to match the set, please remember to still bring your child along photo-ready as we don’t have time to style hair or wipe faces etc. For older girls, putting a light curl through their hair can be really beautiful, and makes them feel extra special for their wee photoshoot.

• When you arrive you will be in the dressing area when you can choose from our selection of dresses, knitted rompers, shorts, tops and bows.

• We love bare feet so don’t stress about what shoes you bring them in.

• We have options available for girls up to roughly 10 years old, and boys up to roughly 6 years. If your child is older than this, bring them along in something of your own case we cannot fit them.

• Please remove your shoes at the top of the stairs – we recommend wearing jandles or slip ons so that its easier to take them off and on.

• During the session itself, please leave any extra clothes, nappy bags etc. in the dressing area.

• Please don’t bring any extra people into the shooting area, as when too many people come in at once it can be overwhelming and cause the child to look around in all directions instead of at the camera. Plus, if there are too many people, this can restrict my movement and prevent me from getting the right angles.

• Let me know if there are any funny words, faces or favourite songs that they like, as it’s ideal if me or my assistant can get their attention if they like us. Otherwise, be prepared to get right behind my head/camera so that they’re looking in the right direction with light on their face.

• For babies and younger children in the afternoon, Ideally give a nap before their session so that we can get them in the best possible mood. Though don’t worry if you can’t get them down – just continue to have a quiet, relaxing day for best results.

AFTER THE SESSION

• The digital images will be fully edited and ready to send out either late November or early December (more exact estimates may be specified later on). You’ll receive an email with a link to a group online gallery where you will be able to locate and download your digital images.

• If you ordered prints or frames, please remember reply to the email with which images you would like for which products.

• For 14x14” frames: We will making these frames early in order to keep on top of things before Christmas, and we will automatically be doing all those order on booking in the golden mocha style. So please let us know asap if you would prefer one of the different golden styles pictured below. Once you receive the digital images you will of course also need to let us know if you would prefer the square, circle, or 4-hole design.

• You can order extra product within 48hrs after receiving your digital images, but we can’t guarantee that we will be able to take your order due to supplies. So please try to order on booking or as early as possible if you want to be guaranteed product before Christmas,

• Product will need to be picked up on Friday 11th of December at 10am-3pm from the studio. If you cannot make this day, please organise for someone else to pick it up for you as there will be no other pickup days before Christmas.

From the careful design and printing, to the custom build, this whole process is handled in-house by me and my husband/framer, Mike.

We have a hand-picked selection of the worlds most beautiful designs, which you can view online here and in the studio. To finish, our frames with TruVue’s patented UltraVue; an archival, UV protected, museum grade glass designed to protect your fine art print for generations to come.

For Christmas we have our classic 8x10” option in the vintage gold frame (same design as previous years for those collecting a set), while our 14x14”option will be featuring our new ‘Golden Mocha’ frame. Of course you can request the vintage gold or ribbed gold (as was offered for 14x14” frame last year). We also have three different design options this year for the 14x14” frames – square, circle, or a 4-hole design.

+ SANTA LETTER

In the studio there will be a letterbox where you child will post a letter to Santa. In a few weeks time they will get a beautiful handmade reply from Santa.
