Congrats on snapping up a Motherhood Mini session!

This handy dandy session guide will tell you everything you need to know about how to best prepare for your session, ensuring that both you and your little one have a great time.

If you haven’t already, please also read through the information for clarification on what’s included in with your session.

My studio is located in the top right unit of 162 Kendal Avenue, Burnside. There should be parking on the street outside and a photo of newborn triplets on our door – no need to knock, just come on in up the stairs!

Please arrive at your session start time - not before - as these sessions run back-to-back and there is no waiting area. You can text me on 021 277 1987 if you are running late.

Please don’t park in the carpark out the back of the building, there should be parking somewhere on the street outside.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Before the session, have a think about which backdrop you would prefer out of the three backdrop options pictured: Stone white, signature cream or dark brown. You’ll need to let us know once you arrive, or if you’re not sure we can always choose for you based on what you’re wearing.

  • Your session will run for either 15-minutes (Express Mini), or 30-minutes (Classic Mini), and I cannot go over this timeframe as the sessions are scheduled back to back.

  • Please do not come in any earlier than your session start time.

  • Make sure to have a nice relaxing morning (things like going swimming right before your session don’t put them in the best mood for photos). For little ones, see if you can even get them down for a nap before their session to make them extra happy.

  • Please remove your shoes at the top of the stairs.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

AFTER THE SESSION

  • We will send your fully edited digital images for you to download via email between 1-3 weeks after your session. Extra images can be purchased for $30 each.

  • A few days after your session you will be sent an online gallery of the best unedited photos from your session. From here you can choose the photos that you would like to be edited. Extra photos can be added for $30 each.

  • If you’d prefer to skip the unedited gallery and have us choose the images for you, please let us know before your session.

  • Your chosen images will then be fully edited and sent to you to download in full resolution when they are done, roughly 2 weeks later.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

STYLING

  • If you have booked in an Express Mini session, you and your little one will need to come along all dressed and photo-ready.

  • Wear something nice and fairly neutral, with no logos or crazy patterns.

  • While you don’t have to be perfectly matching, you ideally want to be in a similar style (eg. both in cozy woolen jumpers or both in summery dresses) and complimentary colours (eg. both in either lights or darks, warm tones or cool tones, earthy colours or bright colours)

  • Take into consideration which colour backdrop you prefer. Whites and cool-toned colours look best on the white backdrop. Cream and warm-toned colours look best on the cream backdrop. Darks and rich warm-toned colours look best on dark brown backdrop.

  • Please avoid fake-tanning before the session.

  • If you have booked in a Classic Mini, you have the option of choosing something your yourself and/or your little one from our studio wardrobe. If you are wanting to borrow something for your self, bring along a few bra options (including a nude bra) in case we need it to match the dress.

  • Or of course you can just bring along your own outfit if you already have something that you’d love to wear for the photos.

  • For the kids, we have a large selection of beautiful dresses for girls (up to 10 years old), shorts/tops for boys (up to 6 years old) and baby rompers.

  • For little ones between 12-24 months old, we strongly recommend bring them along dressed in their own outfits for the photos. Just as about 60% of the time, kids this age will refuse to get changed in the strange new environment, and forcing them to get changed will upset so much that they are unhappy looking for the rest of the photoshoot. So sometimes it is best to just bring them along dressed them for best results!
