🌸 Congrats on booking a Motherhood Mini session!

This guide has everything you need to know to make the most of your session and ensure a relaxed, enjoyable experience for both you and your little ones

Location:
My home studio is located at 626 Springs Road, Prebbleton — but the entrance is on Trents Road. Look out for the wooden sign at the corner and a small swing sign at the driveway entrance. There’s plenty of parking, so feel free to drive right in.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Backdrop Selection: Take a moment to choose your preferred backdrop — Stone White, Signature Cream, or Dark Brown. If you’re unsure, we can decide based on your outfits once you arrive.
Timing: These sessions run back-to-back, so please be on time. If you’re early, wait in the car until your session start time to avoid distracting the previous session.
Prep Tips: Keep the morning calm and relaxed. Avoid high-energy activities like swimming, and for little ones, try to squeeze in a nap to keep them happy and content.
Gallery & Images: You’ll receive your gallery of selected edited images within 2–3 weeks after your session. If you opted for the proofing gallery add-on ($20), you’ll receive it within a few days to make your selections. Additional images can be added for $50 each.
Final Edits: Once your selections are made, the edited images will be sent to you for download.💛

HAIR & MAKEUP

If you’re not booked for Hair & Makeup, feel free to skip down to the styling section below!

Timing:
Your Hair & Makeup session is scheduled 90 minutes before your photoshoot.

If you booked a 1130am spot. You hair and makeup starts at 10am, and your shoot will be at 1130am
If you booked a 1pm spot. You hair and makeup starts at 1130am, and your shoot will be at 1pm

Preparation:

Wash your hair the day before for the best results. If washing on the day, please ensure it’s fully dry when you arrive.
Come with a clean face — just your usual skincare, no makeup or foundation.

On Arrival:
Jess will be set up in our studio waiting area in Honeydew, so just come in through the usual entrance.

For Parents with Young Kids:
For a more relaxed experience, consider having someone drop the kids off at your session start time. This way, they arrive fresh and ready to go.
If that’s not possible, bring along a screen or something to keep them entertained while you’re getting pampered. Kids over 5 usually do fine waiting, but younger ones might get restless after sitting around for over an hour.

SELF-STYLING

If you’re booked for a self-styled session, arrive dressed and ready to go so we can dive straight into the shoot to get the most out of our time.

Outfit Tips:

Keep it simple — neutral tones, no logos or bold patterns.
Aim for complementary styles (e.g., both in cozy jumpers or flowy dresses) and cohesive colours (lights, darks, earthy tones, or brights).
Avoid fake tan right before the session.

Backdrop & Colour Guide:

White Backdrop: Whites, cool tones, soft pastels.
Cream Backdrop: Creams, warm tones, earthy colours.
Dark Brown Backdrop: Dark tones, rich, warm hues.

STUDIO WARDROBE

For ‘Styled’ sessions, you’ll have full access to our studio wardrobe. You can either bring your own outfit or borrow something from our collection — then we’ll dress the kids to match!

For You:

Wear nude undies and a nude bra for versatility.
Bring along strapless or plunge bras if you have them — they might work best with some of our dresses.

For the Kids:

Girls (up to 12 years): Beautiful dresses in various styles.
Boys (up to 6 years): Shorts, tops, and rompers.
Babies: Adorable rompers and outfits.

12–24 Months:
For little ones in this age range, consider bringing them dressed in a favourite outfit. Sometimes they’re not keen to get changed in a new environment, and with mini sessions, we don’t have much time to warm them up.
