Thank you so much for choosing me to be your babies photographer! I consider myself truly lucky to be around these little munchkins all the time.

This handy dandy session guide will tell your everything you need to know about how to best prepare for your session, ensuring that both you and your baby have a great time.

 
 
 
 
 
 

THE STUDIO

Your session will take place at our beautiful studio at 626 Springs Road, Prebbleton.

However, please note that the entrance is on Trents Road. We have a wooden sign on the corner to signal where to turn, plus a wee swing sign on the entrance. When you arrive, you can drive right up onto the property as there is plenty of parking. The entrance to the studio through the big glass sliding door on the right-hand side of the building.

We highly recommend coming via Springs Road as Shands Road is partially closed due to roadworks right now.

You are more than welcome to take ‘behind-the-scenes’ photos and videos, but ideally do this after we’ve finished shooting (or just towards the end of the shoot if it’s going well) just in case your little one finds it a bit distracting. WHAT TO EXPECT

  • On arrival you’ll walk into our print shop/waiting area - there’s a big sign saying Honeydew Printery and lots of baby pictures everywhere so you’ll know you’re in the right place!

  • The studio itself is through the door immediately to your left - if you’ve arrived on time and you can see that there’s no one else in there, head straight on through! Otherwise if you can see we’re still finishing up with the people before you, there are a couple chairs in the waiting area for you to make yourself comfortable on until we are ready for you.

  • If you arrive early, ideally wait in your car until a couple minutes before your session to avoid too many people in the waiting room at once.

  • If you arrive late, this will cut into your session time as these sessions are scheduled back-to-back.

  • Please wear easy-to-remove shoes in case you need to take them off.

  • If there is anything special you would like them to wear, simply bring them to the session dressed in that outfit.

  • Let us know if there are any funny words, faces or favourite songs that they like.

  • If your child is confident with strangers, I find it is best if mum/dad can stand back and relax. This way we can easily get your babies full attention so that they're looking and smiling directly into the camera, as opposed to off the side at you.

  • If we have trouble getting a big smile out of them, we may call you in for backup about halfway through the session!

  • You are also more than welcome to give baby a feed in the waiting room after your session if needed.

  • For kids, we’ll often give them a wee treat after their session (usually a jellybean or a lollypop). But if you prefer we didn’t, just let us know and we’ll give them a sticker or something instead!

  • A week or two after your session, you’ll receive your digital images via email.

 
 
 
 
 

STYLING

This mini session includes access to our boutique studio wardrobe, along with our collections of headbands, bonnets, toys, wooden stools and other props.

Of course if you have something special of your own that you’d love to wear, you are more than welcome to wear that instead. We don’t do full naked shots in these sessions, but we can do topless with just a nappy cover to capture the chubby goodness!
