BUNNY MINI
SESSION GUIDE
Congratulations on booking your Bunny Session! 🐇✨
This handy session guide will walk you through everything you need to know to ensure a smooth, relaxed, and fun experience for both you and your little one(s).
Studio Location:
Our studio is based at 626 Springs Road, Prebbleton (entrance off Trents Road) — look for the big hedge on the corner!
There’s plenty of parking available on the property.
Please don’t arrive early — as tempting as it is! We like to keep things calm and focused for the children already in session, so arriving right on time helps us keep the magic flowing.
Behind-the-scenes & photos:
You’re very welcome to snap a few pics of your little one in the dressing area, and you’re also welcome to take behind-the-scenes shots during the session — just be mindful not to get in the way while we’re shooting. If your child seems a bit distracted or overwhelmed, it’s best to put phones away so there’s only one camera to focus on.
If you need anything or have any questions, you can reach me anytime at cassandra@hazelandcass.co.nz.
Can’t wait to see you soon!

WHAT TO EXPECT
At the start of your session, one of us will guide you through our studio wardrobe and help you select the perfect outfit for your little one(s). Once dressed, we’ll head over to the set and begin the photoshoot.
Each session runs for 30 minutes. This includes both dressing time and the shoot itself, so please make sure to arrive right on time — not early or late — to help keep everything running smoothly.
After your session, you'll have time to change your child(ren) back into their clothes while the next family gets ready.
Please note that we’re unable to extend your session if you arrive late, so do your best to be on time — we want to make the most of your little one’s time in front of the camera!
ave wardrobe options available for children aged 3 months to 8 years, for all genders. If your child is older than this, please bring them dressed in an outfit you’d be happy with—just in case we don’t have something that fits. We also have a few pairs of shoes on hand, but for older kids, we recommend bringing a pair of neutral shoes or brown boots to complete their look.
If there are any funny words, songs, or tricks that your child responds well to, let me know! It’s super helpful if Maddy or I can use something familiar to get their attention and keep them engaged. Otherwise, be ready to jump behind my head or camera to help direct their gaze and keep that light shining on their little face.
If your child is confident entering the set on their own, we ask that you stay out of the shooting area during the session. I often move quickly—side to side or backward—and I’ve definitely bumped into unsuspecting parents before!
If your child needs extra support, that’s totally okay. We’ll let you know exactly where you can sit or stand for each shot. For babies, you'll be our official “spotter” to help keep them safe—so most baby shots will be closer up. The only time we can capture wider set shots is when they’re able to stand unaided or against a prop like a little chair.
If your little one is nervous around or too rough with the bunny, we may need to do the session without the bunny for their safety and the bunny’s. If you think this might be the case, feel free to bring along a bunny toy or soft toy they love to act as a sweet stand-in.
HOW TO PREPARE
For shy or strong-willed 2–3 year olds, we highly recommend arriving with them already dressed in an outfit you’re happy to be photographed in.
If you’re unsure, it’s always safest to dress them nicely just in case. You're welcome to bring an outfit from our wardrobe to try—if they’re up for it—but sometimes it’s simply not worth the stress if changing outfits leads to tears and we run out of time for photos.
Please arrive with your little one photo-ready—we don’t have time during the session to style hair, clean faces, or remove bandages. While we can easily Photoshop out bruises or scrapes, bandages are tricky, so best to take them off beforehand if possible.
For older girls, a light curl through their hair can look beautiful on camera and often makes them feel a little extra special for their moment in the spotlight.
If your session is in the afternoon, and you're bringing a baby or toddler, try to give them a nap beforehand so they arrive in the best mood possible. But don’t stress if a nap doesn’t happen—just keep the day slow and calm, and we’ll do our best to work with their energy.
For little ones, it can also help to practice “gentle hands” at home—patting soft toys or animals—so they’re familiar with how to be kind around the bunny on the day.
