Thank you so much for choosing me to be your babies photographer! I consider myself truly lucky to be around these little munchkins all the time.
This handy dandy session guide will tell your everything you need to know about how to best prepare for your session, ensuring that both you and your baby have a great time. If you haven’t already, please also read through the Cherub information for clarification on what’s included in with your session.
My studio is located in the top right unit of 162 Kendal Avenue, Burnside. There should be parking on the street outside and a sign on our door – no need to knock, just come on in up the stairs!
Please don’t park out the back on weekdays – there should be space on the street.
Please refrain from taking any photos or videos on your phone during the session. I understand how hard it is to resist snapping a picture of everything with your baby, but now for you can just sit back and relax – we’ve got the photos covered.
My assistant Maddy will likely be taking videos throughout for our instagram story @hazelandcass that you can check out during and after the session. We will also put up a fully edited ‘sneak peek’ from your session on our Facebook page the following day.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Your session will run for around 50 minutes, and I cannot go far over this as the sessions are scheduled back to back every hour, so please try your best to be on time. You can contact me on 0212771987 if you are running late.
You will have access to my full selection of little dresses, knitted rompers, headbands and props, so let me know if you see anything in particular that you’d like.
Babies have an attention span of about 20-30 minutes, so for this reason I try to shoot as fast as possible and I only allow for a couple of outfit changes.
If there is anything special you would like your baby dressed in simply bring them to the session dressed in that outfit, along any significant items you want to include, such as shawls or special teddies.
My sessions are 'baby led', which basically means that we roll with whatever your baby is comfortable with, not forcing them to do anything they don’t like. Let me know at the start of the session if there are any specific poses that you would like so that we have plenty of time to ease them into it.
If your baby is confident with strangers, I find it is best if mum and dad sit back and relax. This way I can easily get your babies full attention so that they're looking and smiling directly into the camera, as opposed to off the side at you.
Ideally get your baby to have a nap before their session so that we can get them in the best possible mood. Don’t worry if they don’t go down, it won’t be the end of the world.
AFTER THE SESSION
A couple weeks after your session you will come back to the studio for your viewing session, where you can see all your images and choose how many you would like to purchase.
You can then decide which image/s you would like to frame using the included frames or frame credit in your chosen image package.
Any frames you order take around 2-3 weeks to make, depending on the size. We will email you when everything’s ready, then you can pick them up from the studio at a time that suits.
From the careful design and printing, to the custom build, this whole process is handled in-house by me and my husband/framer, Mike.
We have a hand-picked selection of the worlds most beautiful designs, which you can view online here and in the studio. To finish, our frames with TruVue’s patented UltraVue; an archival, UV protected, museum grade glass designed to protect your fine art print for generations to come.
With your images you will receive 1-2 frames (depending on which image package you choose) featuring your favourite image/s. From here you can add on extras, or exchange them for credit towards one larger frame. You can also order any extra frames at any point.
