Thank you so much for choosing me for the amazing job of photographing your baby. I consider myself truly lucky to be around these little munchkins all the time.
This handy dandy session guide will tell your everything you need to know about how to best prepare for your session, ensuring that both you and your baby have a great time. If you haven’t already, please also read through the Cherub information for clarification on what’s included in with your session.
My Studio is located at 23 Witbrock Crescent, Burnside – this is the two story house on the corner with the brick and white wood fence. There should be space to park your car in front of the house by the gate, and if you arrive early please wait in the car until your session time.
Please note that sessions taking place from April onwards will be at our new studio! This is just a couple minutes away from our current studio, on the top floor of the building just right of the shops: Unit 2/First floor, 162 Kendal Avenue, Burnside. There will be parking on the street outside and a sign on our door.
Your session will run for around 40 minutes, and I cannot go far over this as the sessions are scheduled back to back every hour, so please try your best to be on time. You can contact me on 0212771987 if you are running late.
During your session feel free to take any behind the scenes photos or video for your Instagram stories. Be sure to tag @hazelandcassphotography so I can share them to my own!
What to expect
There will be some cold water available for you to drink, but please also bring some non messy, colour free snacks for baby.
You will have full access to all my props and accessories, so let me know if you see anything in particular that you’d like.
I also provide a selection of outfits for babies, but if there is anything special you would like your baby dressed in simply bring them to the session dressed in that outfit.
Babies have an attention span of about 20-25 minutes, so for this reason the sessions are quick and I only allow a couple of outfit changes.
Feel free to bring along any items you want to include, such as shawls or special teddies.
My sessions are 'baby led', which basically means that we roll with whatever your baby is comfortable with, not forcing them to do anything they don’t like. Let me know at the start of the session if there are any specific poses that you would like so that we have plenty of time to ease them into it.
If your baby is confident with strangers, I find it is best if mum and dad sit back and relax. This way I can easily get your babies full attention so that they're looking and smiling directly into the camera, as opposed to off the side at you.
Try your best to get your baby to have a nap before the session so that we can get them in the best possible mood. Don’t worry if they don’t go down, it won’t be the end of the world.
After the session
A couple weeks after your session you will come back to the studio for your viewing session, where you can see all your images and choose how many you would like to purchase.
You can then decide which your preferred printing method and which image/s you would like to frame using the included frames or frame credit in your chosen image package.
Any frames you order take around three weeks to make, depending on the size. We will email you when everything’s ready, then you can pick them up from the studio at a time that suits.
